The COVID emergency has devastated the physical retail sector during these long weeks of lockdown.

The forecasts for the coming months are grim. Entrepreneurs, both small and large, are left to manage the restart on their own. The consultants appointed by the government provide unclear guidance that doesn’t consider the different contexts, leaving a patchwork of barriers and dispensers at the discretion of the employer.

In recent weeks, Store Builder has focused on COVID-19 safety and has developed solutions for the reopening of stores.

The goal has been to implement measures in retail spaces to enhance the safety of both customers and staff, in compliance with government guidelines.

Moreover, for Store Builder, as a retail specialist, it is essential to preserve the in-store experience while avoiding barriers to purchase and consumption.

We have thus developed solutions to provide our clients with support in:

1) Analysis of flows and operations (both customer-facing and back-of-house)

2) Improvement of the interaction between interior and exterior spaces, what we like to envision as areas for welcoming and/or service.

3) Definition of physical separation solutions with a design that is aesthetically pleasing and does not hinder social interaction or conviviality.

4) Informational and service materials for customers, combined with protective tools.

5) Access management

At this time, we do not consider it effective to start projects involving more sophisticated technological solutions, such as the installation of touch totems, as they require longer planning and study periods.

Moreover, if not properly managed, they can become an easy source of contamination.
